TIM BURTON'S ALICE IN WONDERLAND

Alice in Wonderland Poster Pictures, Images and Photos
Tim Burton, although he is a good director, he has been having kind of a somewhat bad movie streak starting with the remake of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. His new movie, the remake of Alice in Wonderland, is no different. The movie as a whole was okay, the characters, costumes, sets, and overall style were great but the story line felt rushed and the main characters were thrown at you right in the beginning of the movie, unlike the cartoon Alice when the story seemed to unravel quite well. Some of the characters seemed to lack the personality they once had. The only character i felt that stayed true to their personality was the March Hare, who was madder than ever. Most of the actors that were picked seemed to fit as the characters they played, especially Alan Rickman as the Caterpillar. I only had a problem with a few of them, like The Mad Hatter. Johnny Depp may be a good actor but his Mad Hatter just didn't seem to work as well as i wanted it to, he seemed to have this weird schizophrenic thing happening to him where he would slip in and out of a weird Irish accent when he would go into an angry type of mood.

See the movie if you love Tim Burton because the style is very Tim Burton. Which means, to those who love the Cartoon Alice in Wonderland, this is not a crazy colorful movie anymore, it has a very dark style to it.

Overall, i thought the characters and story could have been laid out better but that the movie as a whole was okay.

In my opinion, Tim Burton needs to go back to making his own movies and he needs to stop remaking books/movies. the only exception to that would be Sleepy Hollow.

Alice in Wonderland: 3 out of 5
